A Plumbing Emergency in Lindfield
Don felt a great sense of satisfaction knowing that he had a brand new kitchen. He looked around in awe and marvelled at how much of a difference, stainless steel made to the look of a kitchen. Don and his wife had grown tired of their dated kitchen so decided to have it updated. They used equity, from their home, to install a new granite bench top as well as a stainless steel gas stove and matching appliances.
Melinda was hesitant about the ease of fingerprints appearing on the stainless steel but decided that the classier finish was well worth it. She had also never used gas to cook with before so she was excited about this new way of cooking.
Miranda then had the idea to take a photo of the kitchen. She directed Don to stand in front of the bench said to hold still. She had just pressed the shutter when she caught the scent of a strange odour. “What is that smell?” she asked as she tilted her head up. Don sniffed the air around then his face suddenly changed. “That smells like gas!” he exclaimed. He checked around the gas appliances and saw that nothing had been turned on yet. “There’s a leak somewhere, we need to call in somebody now!” Don said hurriedly.
Don ran for the Linfield local news and turned to the back. He remembered that he had seen listings for emergency plumbers in Lindfield. He looked down the page and saw one that stated emergencies as their specialty. The ad also showed that the group assisted the residents in their areas and also Killara, East Lindfield, Roseville, Chatswood, Chatswood West, West Pymble and Macquarie Park. Don quickly dialled and waited, with anticipation, for his call to be attended to. A representative soon answered and he explained his gas plumbing emergency. The helpful assistant then announced that a gas specialist would immediately be on their way.
Don let Miranda know that an emergency plumber should arrive any minute and they decided to wait outside, as the smell was quite unpleasant. Fortunately they didn’t have to wait too long because they soon saw a truck arrive in front of them.
The plumber jumped out and wasted no time in locating the gas leak. He had in his possession, the latest in leak detection equipment.
Shortly after, the emergency plumber found the couple and announced that the leak had been found and repaired. He also let them know that it was safe to enter their home again. Don and Miranda were grateful for the plumber being able to come to their aid, at such a late hour. Miranda didn’t want to think of what could have happened if the emergency plumber didn’t arrive so quickly.
Miranda suggested to Don that they place the plumber’s business card in an easily accessible area, should another plumbing problem become apparent. Don commented that it was a wise idea and that they would definitely rely on their services from now on.
